A New Day-Some New Thoughts

It's really starting to feel like summer here in the mountains. It's a warm, sunny Sunday day. It's also a very special day as it is my father's Birthday. He's 52 today and in honor of that we will be making home made peach ice cream and having a little get together with our church family.

As I'm sitting her typing my mind is wondering to the weather and hot it is. Right now it's around 95 degrees and it feels very warm. We don't like it when it's this hot. It makes us uncomfortable so we turn on our air conditioning. This got me thinking. We can't stand this heat so why do we seem to so conveniently forget that Hell will be worse? It will be ten times hotter for eternity there. Why does that not seem to bother people? I've heard people refer to Hell as one big party. It's not. What it is is eternal separation from God and eternal suffering in a lake of fire. That's worse then even the hottest summer day.

As Christian we need to wake people up to this reality. Maybe then they'd give some more serious thought. Maybe comparing Hell to a summer day is a bit unorthodox, but if people burn and try to escape from the summer heat why not try and help them escape from the Eternal heat of Hell?
